Other people stood gracefully. Me? I stood up mostly… just to fall again
That day, my friend and I arrived at the beach pretending to be all chill.
The surfboard looked cool in photos, but the moment I lifted it… it felt as heavy as a full water gallon.
After just a few steps, my arms were sore, my breath was gone, and deep inside I started wondering,
“Is this a sport… or a punishment?”
Once in the water, a small wave came with an innocent look. I felt confident. Too confident.
The moment I tried to stand up, the board moved first—and I followed right after—splash!
Salt water rushed into my nose, my mouth, and probably straight into my soul.
Other people stood gracefully.
Me? I stood up mostly… just to fall again.
But in the middle of all those dramatic falls, a miracle happened.
For a few seconds, I stood on the board. Not long, but long enough to feel like a world champion—
before falling again in freestyle style.
I popped back up to the surface, laughing at myself.
Turns out, standing on a surfboard isn’t about being good,
it’s about daring to look silly… and enjoying every fall 🌊😄
