There was a moment when I almost turned back.

Standing on the shore, watching the waves roll endlessly toward the beach, I felt small. Around me, people were laughing with friends, sharing excitement, and encouraging each other. And there I was… alone.

For a second, doubt crept in.
“Should I really do this by myself?”

But something inside me refused to give up. I didn’t come this far just to watch from the shore. So I took a deep breath, stepped forward, and walked into the ocean.

The water felt cold at first, and the waves seemed stronger than I expected. Every instruction from the coach sounded simple—paddle, stand, balance—but once I tried, everything felt different. I fell. Again and again.

There was no friend beside me to laugh with. No one to say “it’s okay.”
Just me, the ocean, and my own thoughts.

And strangely… that’s when everything started to change.

With every fall, I began to listen more—to the waves, to my body, and to myself. I stopped worrying about how I looked. I stopped comparing myself to others.

Then, it happened.

For just a few seconds, I stood up.

It wasn’t perfect. It wasn’t long. But it was real.

In that brief moment, I felt something I had never felt before—not just excitement, but pride. Because I did it. Alone.

That day taught me something important:
You don’t always need someone beside you to begin. Sometimes, courage grows when you stand on your own.

And as I walked back to the shore, tired but smiling, I realized…
Coming alone was never a weakness.

It was the reason I found my strength.
