What starts with fear and uncertainty can turn into one of the happiest moments in life. This is the story of the excitement, struggle, and unforgettable feeling of finally standing on a surfboard like a real surfer.
At the beginning, everything felt difficult.
Holding the surfboard while looking at the waves from the beach already made my heart beat faster. I kept wondering if I would really be able to stand up on the board. The ocean looked beautiful, but at the same time, it felt challenging and unfamiliar.
When the lesson started, I fell many times.
Sometimes I paddled too slowly. Sometimes I stood up too early. And many times, the wave simply pushed me back into the water. My body became tired, my arms felt heavy, and I started laughing at myself every time I fell.
But strangely, that was the fun part.
Every time I tried again, I felt a little braver. The instructors kept encouraging me, and little by little, I began to understand the timing, the balance, and the feeling of moving together with the wave.
Then came the moment I will never forget.
I paddled, felt the wave behind me, stood up carefully… and suddenly, I was surfing.
For a few seconds, everything felt perfect. The sound of the wave, the wind, and the feeling of gliding on the water made me feel incredibly alive. I wasn’t just someone taking a lesson anymore — I felt like a real surfer.
That one successful ride erased all the fear and frustration from earlier.
The process of learning, falling, and trying again made the experience even more exciting. Because in the end, the best feeling was not only standing on the board, but realizing that I could do something I once thought was impossible.
And honestly, after experiencing that feeling, one lesson never feels enough.
