At first, I truly didn’t expect it.
Even just looking at the waves from the shore made me doubt myself. There was only one thought in my head: “I probably won’t be able to stand on the board.” I walked into the ocean feeling half hopeful, half afraid. Every time I tried, I fell again and again. Saltwater got into my mouth, my body felt exhausted, and at one point I even thought about giving up.
But somehow… I kept trying.
And then… that moment came.
I paddled, felt the push of the wave from behind, and slowly got up. In a matter of seconds—I was standing. Actually standing on the board. Time felt like it slowed down. The wind felt different. And for the first time, I thought: “Hey… I can do this.”
When I got off the board, I couldn’t help but laugh to myself. A mix of surprise, happiness, and a little disbelief.
And honestly… in that moment, I praised myself.
Not out of arrogance, but out of pride.
Because it turned out that all those doubts were not stronger than my courage to try. All those falls weren’t failures—they were part of the process that led me to finally stand.
So, praising yourself? That’s okay.
Sometimes we really need to say to ourselves:
"Hey, you did great. That was amazing."
Because behind that one moment of standing, there are so many efforts we often forget to appreciate 🌊🏄♂️
