He fell faster than a Monday diet plan.
That morning we came to the beach full of confidence. Surfboards under our arms, sunglasses on, posing like professional surfers… even though inside we were already nervous just from warming up.
When the first wave came, we paddled as hard as we could.
“This is it! Stand up! Stand up!” my friend shouted.
Three seconds later… splash!
He fell faster than a Monday diet plan.
Not wanting to lose, I tried too. I had barely stood halfway when the wave rolled me over like laundry in a washing machine. I came out of the water with messy hair and sand all over my face, but still trying to look cool.
“So… do I look like a pro?” I asked.
My friend looked at me for a moment and burst out laughing.
“A pro at falling, not a pro surfer!”
That day we fell more times than we stood. But that was exactly what made it so fun. Every fall ended with laughter until our stomachs hurt.
Because in surfing, what really matters isn’t how long you stand on the board… but how hard you can laugh after you fall. 🌊🏄♂️😆
