Falling is part of learning. What matters is that you get back up again.”

I stood up.

That morning at Kuta Beach, I stood with a surfboard in my hands—not as a surfer, but as someone full of doubt. The waves looked beautiful from afar, but up close… they felt like a challenge too big to face.

My first step into the water felt cold—not just on my skin, but in my heart. My thoughts started racing: “Can I really do this? What if I just keep falling?”

And sure enough—the first wave came… I stood up… and within seconds—I fell.

Saltwater rushed into my mouth, my eyes stung, my hair was a mess.
I got up again… tried again… and fell again.

There were moments I wanted to give up. But then I realized—no great surfer ever stood up perfectly on their first try. Maybe they fell hundreds of times before they could ride with ease.

The instructor beside me simply smiled and said,
“Falling is part of learning. What matters is that you get back up again.”

I took a deep breath. This time, I didn’t fight the waves—I tried to understand their rhythm. I paddled more calmly… feeling the push of the wave from behind…

“Now!”

I stood up.

Not perfect. Not for long. But for a few seconds… I was riding the wave.

And in that moment, everything felt different.
There was no fear—only freedom.

I smiled.

That day, I learned something more than just surfing:
that courage isn’t about never falling, but about getting back up every time you do.

Because sometimes, what we need isn’t a perfect wave—
but the courage to try again. 🌊
