That morning, three friends—let’s call them “the Trio”—arrived at the beach with maximum confidence.

“Is this your first time?” the instructor asked.

“Yes, first time… but we feel like we’ll get it quickly,” we said casually.

Warm-up done. Theory done. Time to hit the water.

🌊 The first wave came…
I went first. Paddle… stand up… and—
I STOOD UP! 😳

My two friends were stunned.
“How did you do that?!”

Then it was my friend’s turn.
Paddle… good timing… and he stood up too!
A bit shaky, but he made it.

The other friend started to panic.
“Hey… are we in the wrong level or what?”

He tried…
Paddle… stand up… and…
HE STOOD UP TOO! 🎉

All three of us looked at each other.
The instructor in the distance started squinting.

Second wave… third… fourth…
WE ALL STOOD UP. No one fell.

Finally, the instructor came closer, looking serious but confused.

“Guys… honestly… is this your first time or second time?” 🤨

We answered together,
“First time!”

The instructor paused, then said,
“…or did you watch YouTube all night?” 😅

We laughed.
But deep inside, we were also wondering—
“Why is this so easy today?!”

Until finally…
on the last wave…

I got too confident and tried a trick.
My friend followed.
The other one didn’t want to lose either.

And then…
SPLASH! SPLASH! SPLASH! 🌊

All three of us fell at the same time.

The instructor slowly clapped and said,
“Now… THAT’S a real first time.” 😆🏄‍♂️
